Health Ministries Clinic (HMC) | Newton, Kansas Health Ministries Clinic is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our laboratory team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a mission-driven healthcare organization where your work directly supports quality patient care in our community.This full-time position offers a 4-day workweek . The regular schedule is 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM . On Tuesdays , the workday may extend to 6:30 PM or 7:00 PM when you are scheduled for the Friday-off rotation .What You'll Do Assist with receiving, labeling, processing, and preparing patient specimensSupport in-house laboratory testing and reference laboratory send-outsCollect patient samples using phlebotomy procedures and direct patients / nursing staff in proper specimen collection of other samplesMaintain accurate documentation and recordsAssist with laboratory equipment, supplies, and routine maintenanceFollow established safety, quality, and infection-control proceduresMaintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAAWork closely with laboratory and clinical staff to ensure timely specimen processingHelp maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laboratory environmentWhat We're Looking For Previous laboratory, healthcare, or specimen-processing experiencepreferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to follow written procedures accuratelyExcellent communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and qualityAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environmentWhy HMC?
