A Family Finder's goal is to find a relative or NRKIN placement for that youth, but if placement cannot be identified, Family Finders strive to build a community of connections for that youth.Hybrid work schedule: varies based on in person workload. 3-5 days in office required. Rotating on call schedule.Education and experience requirements:A bachelor's or master's degree in social work, community counseling, human development, child and family development, applied family and youth services, public health, health sciences, trauma studies, sociology/social services, substance abuse/addictions, early childhood, education, or psychology from an accredited college/university.Previous experience working with children and family services is preferred.Licensure & Certifications:Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.Must be at least 21 years of age.What you will do:Carry out goals and objectives of the kinship department.Train KVC staff, agency partners and community partners in Family Finding and the importance of relative/kin connection.Maintain working relationships/communication with DCF, courts and other community partners.Interview and collaborate with children at the office, at placement, or in the community to gather information on possible connections for children.Interview parents, caregivers and other family members to gather more information on possible connections for children.Attend court hearings as necessary to build relative/kin networks for assigned clients.Search for relatives through databases, online searches, social media, file mining, and through any other resources at KVC disposal.Facilitate and schedule family meetings between children, their family, family connections, and professionals to develop lifetime networks and make a plan of action to meet that child's biggest unmet need.Deploy Family Finding tactics like mobility mapping, calendaring, connectedness maps, genograms, etc. to search out connections for assigned child's network and dose the child with positive interactions.Complete all required paperwork and follow agency policies and procedures within specific timeframes, to ensure a smooth paperwork flow.Attend frameworks and other kinds of staffing as assigned.Observe children for signs of abuse and/or neglect, and report incidents as mandated.Provide transportation for clients as needed.Document all contact with clients and collaterals; complete case activity logs and all related documentation.Attend required trainings.Why Choose KVC?Top 1% of Employers Nationwide.
