Staff Accountant

As the Staff Accountant, with experience in all aspects of accounting, you will play an integral part in the preparation of financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit & loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The Staff Accountant will perform general accounting and other related duties for the organization. This is an on-site position at our location in Topeka, KS. Your impact:

  • Participate in the preparation of monthly balance sheets, profit & loss statements and other financial documents.
  • Maintain monthly reconciliations, including but not limited to bank accounts, assets and liabilities and reports issues to be resolved.
  • Journal entry creation and posting.
  • Review vendor invoices for proper coding and adhering to the organization's capitalization policy.
  • Support the accounting team by assisting other areas as needed.
  • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned.

Your Profile:

  • Ability to perform the functions of the job typically acquired with 2-5 years of experience or corresponding education.
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of computer software programs to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
  • Bachelors' degree in accounting preferred.
  • Experience with managing time with simultaneous tasks and projects.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Expertise in handling confidential and sensitive employee, customer, and company information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, high proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Inquisitive mindset focused on learning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizations skills and attention to detail.
