Sanitation Operator - Lawrence, KS

Pay: Starting pay is $19.75/hr. Shift differential of $2/hr for overnight shifts. Up to $1/hr pay increase after 6 months of good standing employment.

Shifts

Schedule assignment is determined by plant needs and confirmed during an interview. Night Shift - Monday-Friday 6 pm - 2:30 am.

Position Summary

The Sanitation Technician ensures that the building is kept in pristine condition, and all the equipment inside are maintained in a clean and serviceable manner. This means completing all sanitation as scheduled on the Master Sanitation Schedule. They will complete sanitation projects as directed, as well as ensure that all cleaning tools and chemicals are organized and adequately supplied for the company's needs. This person will also engage in quality and safety measures daily, such as maintaining the standards put forth in the Safety Program and Food Safety Management Program.

Essential Job Function

• Follow all FDA health and OSHA safety regulations
• Maintain good attendance.
• Have experience with a food processing sanitation program.
• Understand the safety measures necessary for all equipment operation and cleaning.
• Understand how to contact external support needed for all issues that arise.
• Demonstrate the ability to work from verbal instructions and manuals for cleaning procedures.
• Inspect and maintain overall cleanliness of the building.
• Manage scheduled work list to maintain timely completion of all cleaning projects.
• Maintain records of cleaning for all food contact equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Manage cleaning tools and chemicals in the facility and ensure they are kept and returned to the right place.
• Manage cleaning tools and chemicals in the facility and ensure all quantities are at an adequate level.
• Understand the Food Safety Management Plan and ensure all quality measures are met and issues are eliminated.
• Understand the contents of Safety Program and ensure all measures are met and any hazards are eliminated.
• Complete all training as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

• Proven experience in sanitation work.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Ability to use tablet for data entry.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds repetitively. Up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand on your feet for an entire shift.
• Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures.
