GHD is seeking a driven and dynamic Railway Environmental Remediation Project Director/Lead to join our growing Midcon Contaminated Assessment and Remediation (CAR) Group. If you are passionate about solving complex environmental challenges, building lasting client relationships, and shaping the future of railway remediation, this is the role for you.

This position involves:

  1. Solve complex problems related to environmental investigations and remediation, delivering tailored solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
  2. Grow our remediation presence in the railway sector through strategic relationship-building with Class 1 and short-line railways.
  3. Oversee proposal development, lead contract negotiations, and ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and with high client satisfaction.
  4. Mentor and inspire a high-performing team of environmental professionals, fostering growth and innovation.

What you will bring to the team:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation, with expertise in regulatory strategies and client engagement.
  • Familiarity with railway-specific challenges, including compliance with federal and state environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • A deep understanding of EPA and state environmental regulations, remedial technologies, and site characterization methods.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A Bachelors or higher degree in Engineering, Geology, or Science (Professional Licensure is a plus).
  • A collaborative, safety-first mindset, and a desire to make a lasting impact in environmental remediation.
  • Leadership experience managing large-scale remediation projects and mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
