PAY RANGE: Environmental Consultant I: $59,100 - $73,900
Environmental Consultant II: $72,400 - $90,500
Senior Environmental Consultant: $81,800 - $109,100
Lead Environmental Consultant: $96,300 - $128,400
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Job may require additional hours with short notice.
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Environmental Consultant will be responsible for support of compliance activities within the Water, Waste & Wildlife sections of Environmental Services. This role requires a wide range of environmental experience across multiple disciplines with primary focus on Evergy's Wildlife and Avian Protection initiatives, Hazardous and Universal Waste compliance, with additional support of Water Consumption data.
This position will work cooperatively with environmental managers, energy centers, and staff in other business units throughout the company as well as external regulatory agencies. The influence on expenses and budget will be moderate. This position will receive general guidance and supervision from the Senior Manager and will be required to coordinate and perform activities while working with other environmental staff and company personnel at multiple locations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree in Biological, Earth or Physical Sciences, Engineering or related field. A preferred candidate would understand and have experience with evaluating, summarizing and managing data systems. Entry level to highly experienced candidates will be considered for this role.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required
Requires the ability to interpret complex environmental regulations and determine the effect these regulations may have on company-wide operations. Candidate must be comfortable with changing technology and have the ability to work in a team environment at both the corporate and business unit level. Candidate must possess excellent scheduling and communication skills and demonstrate a progressive, dynamic attitude toward problem solving. Business writing, training skills, public speaking, planning skills, interpersonal relationship skills and presentation skills are required.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
Successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
