Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor - Roads and GroundsPosition Purpose: To keep the District's facilities and grounds maintained and operational so that they present no problems or interruptions to the education program.Qualifications:High school graduate or equivalent.Previous experience in commercial or facilities grounds maintenance is beneficial.Experience and training in landscaping, grounds maintenance, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, aerating, weed control, and snow removal.Must have a valid Kansas driver's license and possess a good driving record.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of standard practices, tools, and terminology in landscaping, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, and other assigned skill areas.Ability to drive and operate medium to large trucks, mowers, and a variety of standard farm, lawn, and turf management equipment.Ability to read, understand, and apply technical information in equipment and facilities maintenance manuals, technical bulletins, and associated grounds keeping literature; must be able to interpret the technical within the assigned skill areas.Ability to design or modify components to meet job requirements in the assigned skill areas.Ability to work in varied weather and temperature conditions.Ability to work from heights.Knowledge of colors.Ability to perform work independently according to prescribed standards and procedures with a minimum of supervision.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Dependability and the ability to get along with others.Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, hazardous materials, and proper ways necessary to perform the assigned tasks.Company Description: We are the largest school district in northeast Kansas.
