CUSTODIAN IOC - BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS DEPARTMENT 24-10-5POSITION: Custodian IOCDEPARTMENT: Buildings and GroundsPAY LEVEL: Level 2 $16.24-$18.65EXEMP/NON-EXEMPT: NLOCATION: Leavenworth County Health Department BuildingSUPERVISOR: Director of Public Works Buildings and GroundsSUPERVISES: N/APERCENTAGE OF TIME ACCOUNTABILITIES25% - Mopping20% - Cleaning sinks and toilets10% - Dusting5% - Ordering SuppliesSCOPEProvides janitorial services to ensure the cleanliness of offices, hallways, entry ways, exam rooms, kitchenettes, conference rooms, and restrooms.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Knowledge in the use of cleaning products safely.Adequate knowledge in operation of cleaning equipment.Ability to order supplies when needed.HUMAN RELATIONS:Ability to understand and follow written and oral communication.Ability to pass a drug screening prior to hire.Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees and superiors.Ability to provide cleaning services to the agency.ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS: (This is not an inclusive list; other tasks/duties may be assigned.)Vacuum conference rooms after each event.Mop and clean exam rooms every night.Mop kitchen floor and bathroom floors a minimum of once a week.Clean sinks and toilets every night.Work with Buildings and Grounds personnel to order supplies.Empty trash on a daily basis.Maintain organization of storage area.All other cleaning needed to maintain the Health Department Building.ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Work is performed in a modern, smoke-free, office setting.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma/GEDExperience providing cleaning servicesADA/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Vision: Ability to read.Hearing: Adequate for normal conversations with employees and the general public.Speech: Must be able to speak and understand English language clearly.Standing: 10% of the time.Walking: 85% of the time.Sitting: 5% of the time.Lifting/Carrying: 20-30 pounds.Pushing/Pulling: When sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.Climbing/Balancing: Required when retrieving supplies.Stooping/Kneeling: Required when lifting supplies, etc.Reaching/Handling: Required on most tasks.
